Brain Freeze: Why Your Head Hurts When You Eat Cold Stuff!

Brain freeze isn’t your brain actually freezing. It’s your body sending a quick warning. When you eat something really cold, the top of your mouth suddenly gets super chilly. The blood vessels there squeeze tight, and your nerves send a fast message to your brain. Your brain reacts with a quick, sharp headache called brain freeze. It usually lasts only a few seconds and is just your body telling you to slow down and let your mouth warm up.
